Abstract

In Europe the 18th and 19th Century was the age of Enlightenment. It ushered an era of ideas, philosophers and thinkers. Darwin, Francois-Marie, Kar Marx, were notable names in Europe, and in the Indian sub-continent Mirza Ghalib, Altaf Hussain Ḥali, Swami Vivekananda, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, and Sir Muhammad Iqbal gave an intellectual insight to the ailments of Indian society. Iqbal was a poet and pioneer of the Islamic renaissance in the subcontinent. He was very attached to the Holy Qur’an, in addition to his mastery of English, he had a long history in Arabic poetry due to his attachment to the Holy Qur’an, and his admiration for ancient Arabic poetry. Muhammad Iqbal contact with cognitive revolution of Europe, so he acquainted with the methods and views of Jewish and Christian thinkers of Europe. Iqbal saw in Qur’anic doctrine “Sakinah” find the purpose of life. His poetry was proved by Qur’an. Also, he has included quotations from the Qur’an in his speeches. Allama highlights the summary and meanings of every verse and hadith in his poetry in an attractive manner
