Abstract

Every Muslim must distinguish between halal and harām. Insects are jurisprudentially interpreted as harām because they are malice. A glance at history reveals that insects are used in medicine for a variety of diseases. Even at the present time, scientists are conducting further research on insects to find out how to cure infectious diseases by using them or their ingredients in medicine. The main purpose of this research is to know the Shari'ah rules regarding the use of insects in medicine. For this purpose, first of all, the concept of insects has been explained in detail with reference to the Qur'an and Sunnah and the sayings of the jurists, and at the same time the uses of insects have also been explained. The views of the jurists and their arguments regarding the Shari'ah ruling have been stated. As a result, it is understood that in the light of modern research, insects are being used in medicine for treatment. But the condition for this is that the medicine made from these insects should be used under the heading of treatment with harām things, and the competent physician should make it mandatory to use the medicine made from insects if there is no alternative for treatment. Furthermore, in the current scientific and industrial age, further research should be done on the benefits and properties of insects and in the absence of alternatives, experts and jurists should allow them to be used in medicine for the purpose of treatment. The views of other sects, which have their own strict conditions, should also be used when necessary
