Abstract

Allah sent the Prophets for the guidance of humanity and sent His message to them through revelation. Adam (AS) was the first human being and the first messanger of Allah. Allah sent more than a hundred thousand Prophets to different nations; sometimes one and sometimes more than one Prophets at a time. Allah says that we sent a Prophet to every nation and he was speaking their language because he was from them. This chain of Prophethood ended at the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Allah called the Muhammad (SAW) “The Seal of the Prophets” and as a routine, anything is sealed at the completion of any task. It means Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the last Prophet of Allah and no any Prophet will come after him. Anybody who claims to be Prophet in any form will be liar and he refuses verses of the Holy Qur᾽ānd the sayings of the Holy Prophet (SAW). All the companions of the Holy Prophet and afterward, all the Muslim Umma agreed upon the point that Muhammad (SAW) is the last Prophet of Allah. After the demise of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Musailma of Yamama, Aswad ʽAnsi, Tulaiḥa and Sajjaʽ claimed Prophethood, the first Caliph of the Muslims; Abu Bakar Siddīq fought against them. In this battle of Yamama against Musailma, hundreds of the companions got martyred; especially those who had learnt the Holy Qur᾽ān by heart but the Caliph took strong stand against Musailma and others. According to Muslim belief, The Jesus Christ will come again near to the Day of Judgment but he will not be a prophet then, he will be the follower of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). According to the sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), If Moses had to come after my prophethood; he will be my follower, not a Prophet himself. This research paper discusses this issue of the End of the Prophethood of the Muhammad (SAW) in the light of the two exegses i.e, Tafsīr Ma᾽arif ul Qur᾽ān by Maulāna Muhammad Idrīs Kāndhlawi (D: 1974 AD) and Tafsīr Zia ul Qur᾽ān by Pīr Muhammad Karam Shah Al-Azhari (D: 1998 AD)
